This is an abandoned Holden HQ Kingswood 🇦🇺
Inside the residential compund located in Cinere, not far from the Unotech repair shop, and me manage to found another abandoned rare car, stranded on the side of the quiet road. But the last time i checked, the car wasnt there anymore. Probably someone has remove it or maybe, restore it ! The abandoned car was a Holden Kingswood, that was built by Holden company since 1968-1984. Prior to 1968, the Holden range of family cars comprised the Holden Standard, the Holden Special, and Holden Premier models. Initially, the range of models included the basic Holden Belmont (replacing the Standard), the Kingswood (replacing the Special), and the luxury-oriented Holden Premier, all of which were manufactured in a choice of sedan and station wagon bodies.
Holden HQ series was redesign in 1971. The HQ type is the second generation of Kingswood with a completely changed appearance from the previous generation. introducing larger capacity 173-cubic-inch (2.85 L) and 202-cubic-inch (3.3 L) six-cylinder engines, with the continued availability of 253-cubic-inch (4.2 L), 308-cubic-inch (5.0 L) Holden and 350-cubic-inch (5.7 L) Chevrolet V8 engines. HQ was the most radically engineered Holden since the introduction of the original 48-215 model of 23 years prior. It featured a perimeter frame and semi-monocoque (unibody) construction, and was the first full-size Holden to have coil spring rear suspension. The HQ type is among the most popular and in demand among other Holden models. -
Holden Kingswood variants entered Indonesia around 1973-1978 through PT. Udatimex. Apart from being ordered by Pertamina and other government agencies, the Kingswood was also used by taxis company in big cities such as Jakarta & Bandung. Holden HQ Kingswoods were also CKD manufactured in Indonesia for many years. HQ became Holden's most popular car, with a total of 485,650 units sold out worldwide, but sadly in 2021 Holden company was officially closed due to lost sales every year.
