Do you have a dream? What’s your dream? A nice job? A beautiful house? A sweet family? Everyone has a dream, and my dream is to travel around the world.
Before I knew how much I love to travel, I did all the things my family wanted me to do. Study. Graduate. Work. I did all of them...with no regrets. College was one of the best things that happened to me. I found amazing friends. I found love. I found hope. I found courage.
I travelled every summer with the adventure clubs to the Northern areas of Pakistan. This not only helped me learn the art of travel, but it also kept my dream alive.
“Agar kisi cheez ko kisi dil se chaho, toh saari kainaat usey tumse milanay ki koshish mai lag jati hai” -SRK, Om Shanti Om
As filmy as this dialogue sounds, trust me, its equally real. I finished graduation. I was unemployed for almost 4 months. I was doing a corporate internship on 1500/- a week in hope of a permanent contract. I had no savings. But i had hope. I had faith. And God says in the Quran:
“AND PUT THY TRUST IN ALLAH, AND ENOUGH IS ALLAH AS A DISPOSER OF AFFAIRS”
Tawakkul involves belief, dependence and action meaning we have to rely on Allah because without His permission nothing could happen or occur. If we believe in Allah then it means we have our faith in Him. Allah has been too kind. I landed a job where i was given the opportunity to travel internationally and lead several exhibitions projects for my firm. Not only was this a kickstarter for my dream, but this was also an opportunity to gain international exposure, something which has helped my career progression exponentially. Alhumdulillah.
So, my advice to you is to just follow your dreams and never give up on them. Believe in your dreams because they were given to you for a reason. And believe in them because you never know what your Lord can bless you with. So be a go-getter. If you want something, get it. That way, you’ll never end up asking yourself the “What if” question. Dont be afraid to take chances.
