If you have studied history, you can see that although some of the founding ideas from 200 years ago were primitive, they also openly admitted their limitations and allowed for an evolution of American values to influence future policy and societal structure. The idea, is that WE, the people make our country what it should be. WE create an evolution of improvement by our actions, and our behavior, and how we show up in our communities. We don’t settle. We are constantly striving, constantly improving.
I think now more than ever, we are facing the harsh reality that maybe we have allowed a few generations of complacency to bring us to a reality that none of us totally love. Anyone else feeling the collective weight of not taking responsibility?
This is no time to settle for just ‘ok’ or bury your head in the sand, or accept information without verifying. Yes, it takes a little extra work, yes it’s angering at times, but anything worth fighting for takes courage, determination, and effort. That’s it.
We need to think critically.
We need to evaluate policy.
We need to consider our values,
What is needed to preserve them?
We NEED to understand history.
Its the same as sitting with and dealing with your own mistakes, you HAVE to process them in order to heal.
Let’s help our country heal, and do the “inner work” she needs to be the light she was meant to be. 🇺🇸❤️ #washingtondc
